Safety & disclaimer

Information only, not an inspection. Guides and photo reviews on this site are general information and an opinion based on what we can see. They are not an engineering assessment, a safety certification, or an in-person inspection. We can't see hidden cracks, internal rust, or metal grade from a photo.

Safety-critical items

Trailer hitches, couplers, tongues and frames; railings and stairs; vehicle parts; lifting and towing equipment; and anything that holds pressure or a person's weight should always be inspected in person by a qualified welder before use. If it's cracked, stop using it until it's checked.

DIY welding

Welding and cutting carry real risks: burns, eye damage, fire, toxic fumes (especially from galvanized, painted or coated metal), electric shock, and explosion near fuel or closed containers. Use proper PPE and ventilation, keep a fire extinguisher handy, and never weld on fuel tanks or sealed containers.

Prices

Price ranges come from third-party published sources (linked on each guide) or are marked as estimates. They aren't quotes. Actual prices vary by location, condition, and shop.
